Auto3D V1.4.13 is a small application that will convert any supported image into a red-blue Anaglyph. supported images are bmp, gif, and jpg. Zip File Size: 1.39 MB Files: Name Size Description Auto3D.txt 6.76 KB (6,931 bytes) this file SETUP.LST 3.56 KB (3,647 bytes) setup list Auto3D.CAB 1.33 MB (1,399,537 bytes) cab file setup.exe 137 KB (140,800 bytes) installation file --------------------------------- Installation: Default Installation path = C:\Program Files\Auto3D 1) Unzip files into a folder not in the installation path (desktop is fine). 2) Run setup.exe by clicking on it 3) Follow on-screen instructions Un-installation: 1) Open Control Panel 2) Click Add/Remove Programs (Vista: Uninstall Application) 3) Select Auto3D and click Change (Vista: Uninstall) to uninstall 4) Remove Auto3d folder from Progam Files if still there --------------------------------- Start Here: Simple Use: 1) Open an image file. 2) (Optional) Select a Cue - default is RGB 3) (Optional) Select a Blur - default is None 4) (Optional) Select Warp and Added Depth Values - default is Off 5) (Optional) Select Len Order (Red-Blue is default) - default is off (Sugest setting to improve depth) 6) Click Anaglyph in the menu bar. 7) Make selection adjustments (2-5) if desired and then re-click Anaglyph (optional). 8) Save Anaglyph. --------------------------------- NOTES: For better viewing use the Window option to cut the resulting anaglyph into a 3D Window by framing it. Use the grain tool to adjust depths to match picture historgam. The histogram will be available after you make an anaglyph. You have the option of selecting the depth cue The Cues: RGB a general purpose cue giving ok results in most cases UTI a cue based on visual percption Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Magenta are color cues Luminosity a brightness cue Saturation a color strength cue You have the option of selecting a smoothing blur Blurs: None no blur Smere an averaging blur Blur the standard blur Median a median blur Mean a mean blur Max a discrete step blur You have the option of sellecting to warp for further smoothness Warp ranges from 1 to 100 - a subtle smoothing process Add Depth ranges from -12 to 12 - allows you to add more depth to an image - a bad setting can tear an image apart Set Warp and Shift allows you to set your own values for warp and shift. Default Warp value = 24. Warp is off by default Default Shift value = 6. Shift is off by default Default Set: Cue: RGB Blur: None Warp: Off Shif: Off Default Grain Ranges Range 1: 0 - 49 Range 2: 50 - 99 Range 3: 100 - 149 Range 4: 150 - 199 Range 5: 200 - 255 --------------------------------- Menu Items: File-> Open: opens image file Save: saves file Reload: Reloads image Window -> Add Frame -> No: default. Will not add frame Yes: Adds frame Frame Color -> Black: default. Frame is black White: frame is white Fame Type -> Sides Only: default. Traditional 3D window Full: Create a complete 4 sided frame. Cue -> RGB: default. Good all purpose cue UTI: gives prefernce based on visual perception Red: for red dominant images Green: for green dominante images Blue: for blue dominant images Yellow: for yellow dominant images (equal portions of red and green) Magenta:for magenta dominant images (equal portions of blue and red) Cyan: for cyan dominant images (equal portions of blue and green) Luminance: for use where light brightness is a deciding factor Saturation: for use when color brilliance is a deciding factor Blur -> None: deault. No blur (Blurs are used to smooth the color blend of the anaglyph image) Smere: averaging blur Blur: the standard blur Median: a median blur Mean: a mean blur Max: a weighted blur WarpDepth -> Warp: Defaults (value = 24, use = off) a deforming and smoothing function Added Depth: Defaults (value = 6, use = off) adds more depth to an anaglyph Set Warp and Shift -> Opens small dialog to set Warp and Depth values. LENS -> Red - Blue: Sets Filter Order of result Changing order might make a picture pop more. Anaglyph Makes Anaglyph Grain Opens Deth-Granularity Dialog About Simple information about Auto3D --------------------------------- General Purpose Settings: (good for my eyes) Cue: RGB Blur: None or Smere (if Anaglyph is torn) Warp: None or value = 24 (if Anaglyph is torn) Add Depth: on value = 3 to 6 Grain Ranges Range 1: 0 - 49 Range 2: 50 - 99 Range 3: 100 - 149 Range 4: 150 - 199 Range 5: 200 - 255 --------------------------------- Cue Use: Match the Cue to the image. If the image is dominated by red hues - use the red cue If the dominant features of the image are green - use the green cue If the forgound is brighter than the background - use the luminance cue If the forground color are more vibrant than the background colors - use the saturation cue To try and simulate human visual prefences - use the UTI cue Not sure about the image - use the RGB cue --------------------------------- Blur Use: Use a blur if the anaglyphs color blends are tearing apart Blurs will smooth the color blends --------------------------------- Warp Use: Use Warp if the anaglyphs color blends are tearing apart Warp is another way of smoothing the color blends Blurs and Warp are complimentary and can be used together for smoothing. --------------------------------- Add Depth Use: You can add more depth to the anaglyph by selecting an additional amout to shift pixels Negative values = shift left Positive values = shift right You can make an anaglyph un-viewable (extreme binocular disparity) by selecting too large of a value. Different images can handle different maximum depths. --------------------------------- Lens Order Use You can select the order of the Lens Filter. Red - Blue is the default. If an Anaglyph seems flat - Change the Lens Orientation. In some cases this will bring the image to life. Red - Blue produces Anaglyphs behind the image plane by default Blue - Red produces Anaglyphs out of the image plane by default --------------------------------- This software may be updated without notice. --------------------------------- Revision History Auto3D V1.4.13 - automatic frame option (3D window) Software now has option to create 3D window for image using a solid color band - either white or black. Changed main display so image will fill window more evenly. Auto3D V1.4.8 - Corrected several installation errors on Xp + Net framework Auto3D V1.4.6 - Original release Know issues: Some XP + .Net framework reported various installation error messages relating to access and/or installation path. --------------------------------- Auto3D By Robert Spoons 2006-2007 contact rdspoons@sbcglobal.net
